I know that you might not actually ever read this or google your old name. I don't know what you're doing, I don't know who you are or how you are, we haven't spoken in years. Is it seven now or perhaps eight? Whatever else I hope you're ok.
We met on the Kunniacraft server, I think I showed you my base and you decided to stick around and help out. We instantly bonded through Minecraft and played with each other on Kunniacraft for hours every single day. Eventually chatting through Minecraft wasn't enough because you can only really chat when you're online and active so we decided to move on to Skype and we had a blast. It was a magnificent time, we explored Minecraft together. I was more of a builder and you were more into Redstone. We both dabbled a bit in both, of course, but essentially I was the builder and you were the technician.
I remember our first base on Kunnia together. It was just a huge wooden square with chests spammed, it was set on an island and it had a neighboring island as well. It was mainly you and me but also Danny. The Swede. So we had all the Scandinavian countries represented fairly well on that island. We had a few more people, I think the map was only about 1500x1500 so everything was fairly packed together. Our second base was a massive success though. Built into the hillside it had everything, a path going between our base and Vindurza's, paths leading to the ocean and some farms scattered throughout. What I wouldn't pay for the world files just to experience all that we built on that damn server. I also remembered building a floating island though at the time I didn't understand that flat ground wasn't very attractive and also because of the building height limit (124 or so at the time?) I couldn't make it work. Still had to try though!
Because Kunniacraft didn't update quickly, let's be honest it took weeks to get the newest updates, our server would kinda die out in between patches but we were still going strong, figuring out what to do the next patch or just messing with mob farms. I think we met during Beta 1.6 and kept building together until Release 1.0 or 1.1. Quite a number of patches ago, massive amount of time since.
Our last base was the greatest one yet, it was a square shaped building. I don't think we finished building a second floor nor do I think we actually completed the entire building all around but despite all of that it had everything. An iron farm, wheat farm, tree farm, it had it all. It wasn't an awkwardly shaped square either, I was and am still quite proud of what we accomplished there. We even had to scale back on our iron farm because it produced too much lag. Damn, what happened to us? We reached such incredible heights only to quickly and silently dissipate? I miss you a lot.
I remember that you gifted me Portal and we played through that, it was a lot of fun. We also played some DayZ, the mod. We did quite a few things but Minecraft was always the game we returned to.
I was interested in starting a YouTube channel and you were too so we figured we'd do it together through the name ProDotion. I think you mentioned it once "maybe something prodotion?" when you meant to write "production" but the name was endearing enough so it stuck. While we didn't have the meteoric rise to fame most people who started a channel back then hoped for we did see relative success. One of our videos got liked by GenerikB drawing in quite the number of views and likes. I think that video garnered a 100 likes which by that time was impressive. Normally you use that kinda attention as a springboard for future success but we didn't. We were too relaxed in our effort and simultaneously too ambitious. We expected tons of viewers instantly never accounting for the slow and gradual building you have to do. Despite that we did have relative success. Our Redstone tutorials were quite popular, I think you mainly did those, I remember your Creeper face 3x3 door. Also my mod spotlights were quite popular as well. We had a dedicated viewership, I despise the word "fanbase" so perhaps "audience" would suffice here too?
We should've done more but we didn't and because we were both getting burned out and tired of Minecraft our own interaction with each other slowly faded. Eventually I moved away from PC completely and started playing on the PS3 exclusively never to return to Minecraft again. I wish I could tell myself back then to give a proper goodbye or at least have a way for you to reach out to me, add you on FB or even email. I just wish things could've ended differently between us and I now regret so very much how things ended which was exclusively my fault. I'm deeply sorry. A few years ago I tried to add you back on Steam but you wouldn't let me. I understood then and I still understand today, I hurt you. You expected more from a friend, especially on you had spent so much time bonding with. We were on first name basis, we shared from our private lives. I wish I had a good excuse or explanation for my actions or rather inaction at the time but I don't. I'm simply sorry.
